Passion for storytelling

Candice's passion for storytelling shines through her 15-year journey in film, starting as an actor and evolving into casting and production. Most notably, she worked on two National Geographic docuseries. In 2018, she founded Mahalo Productions to create impactful content that fosters compassion. Her talent was recognized when she was selected as a 2020 Telus Storyhive emerging creator, producing the award-winning documentary "Through My Eyes." Currently, she is working on a 2024 documentary, highlighting Vancouver’s iconic "Save on Meats."

Candice wrote, produced, and directed Used, a 90s short film where a seemingly ordinary vintage store becomes the backdrop for an unexpected high school reunion that takes a wildly awkward turn. The film captures the hilarity and chaos of chance encounters, proving that even the most familiar places can surprise you when the past collides with the present in the most unpredictable ways.

Candice wrote, produced, and directed the short documentary Through My Eyes, sponsored by Telus Storyhive. This inspiring film follows a blind visionary who challenges the limits of possibility, offering hope and illumination to kids and families to seek their own limitless possibilities. Through this inspirational and uplifting story of Shawn Marsolais, the founder of the non-profit Blind Beginnings, of the power of resilience and courage, showing that every child has even in the face of having a visual disability, light can be found in the most unexpected places. The film resonates with audiences, proving that vision isn't limited to sight—it's fueled by spirit.

Through My Eyes

Candice played a key role in casting and post-production for National Geographic's gripping WWII docuseries Hitler’s Last Stand. The series dives into the high-stakes battles following D-Day, where relentless Nazi forces fought fiercely to prevent Allied troops from liberating Europe. Her work brought these intense historical moments to life, weaving a narrative of defiance and determination as the war reached its brutal conclusion.
